FACETS OF LITERATURE IN EDUCATION: Methodology and Reader Response Criticism brings together in one volume selected essays and research papers by lecturers who have experienced either learning literature as canonical works or teaching literature in the ESL context. The contents gathered here bear testimony to the sheer variety of approaches and multiplicity of perspectives and methodology which continue to characterize the study of English Literature in present times. As it did no good to Plato to banish poetry (Literature) from his ideal Republic, it would thus be futile to banish literary texts from the teaching syllabi at Malaysian schools, colleges and universities in the 21st century.
